what an apprentice does:
supports owner with station maintenance, shampooing and blow drying guests’ hair
disinfecting and setting up stations for next service
keep shampoo/product area clean, organized, and stocked
take pictures and videos of guests after their services for social media
respond to email appointment requests and misc clerical tasks
end of day cleaning and set up for the following day
maintain salon appearance and cleanliness
actively participate in learning opportunities and ask questions to expand your knowledge
upbeat, detail oriented, loves working as a team!
pleasant to work with : hair is so so fun and this is a fabulous industry to be in but it is also serious business. as hair professionals we know when to flip the switch from fun and games to game-on and so should you. bring a friendly, positive, professional attitude and you’ll do well.
an organizational wizard : when assisting the owner, she’ll need your help to keep on track and on time for when each guest arrives. the beauty business is amazing but it is also a lot of work so multi-tasking and self-direction is a must. organizational skills are important when you’re working on your own too! they help to keep things tidy and not interrupt the flow for others using the space as well.
a do-er :we’ll give you training and guidelines but will need someone who can take initiative and roll with it.
detail oriented : details are everything! the right person takes pride in crossing their t’s and dotting their i’s.
has goals : i’m obsessed with learning and excelling. it’s my top priority to ensure that every member of my team is working to achieve their professional dreams.
meet the team, andi, sarai & cassie; the ladies behind haircraft
working as a curly hair & blonde specialist in missoula for the last 5 years, andi strives to create an environment where everyone around her can flourish.
we enjoy being helpful, supportive and encouraging to all while having fun and working as a team. work-life balance is the key to living your best life and motivating others to take steps to create the career and life of their dreams brings us endless joy.
with a never ending thirst for knowledge, andi is constantly learning and growing. she began an apprenticeship program in 2020, training other stylists on all things curly hair and blonde as well as tips and tricks for building the business of your dreams. we love being part of a team that shares their skills and learns from each other to ensure a superior guest experience.
sarai is andi’s current apprentice and she will be transitioning to behind the chair within the next six months! cassie is our on site, bridal makeup artist. on top of blondes and curls, haircraft strives to make bridal beauty effortless on the day of and these three love the challenge of any size bridal party.

the interview process
once you hear from me there are just a few steps left:
get to know you! we’ll sit down and chat to see if we click. i want to get to know you, the real YOU. leave your prepared and scripted “interview answers” at home! also, be ready with your best shampoo and head massage skills as i’ll have you wash and style me on this day too!
technical tryout. bring in a model and perform a service of your choosing. this allows me to see how you interact with a guest one-on-one. conversation is key! this allows me to see your natural style.
try us out! if we decide to move forward you will be given the opportunity to work a trial day with me. this gives you the chance to experience the salon vibe and environment first hand.
